Joyous Endurance of Persecution

It is inevitable that we are going to face some persecution.  Not everyone will except the truth with joy and some might even hate us for Christ.  That’s because their eyes are veiled.  We cannot get down if someone says something mean to us or if we are treated harshly for Christ, we are to rejoice and pray for them.

We enjoy so many freedoms in this country and thankfully most do not know what it is really like to face persecution for our faith.  So many die everyday is other countries just for being Christian – but they stand strong knowing that their hope is in the Lord and the life here on earth is only a glimpse of eternity.

Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 3:12, “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

We can rejoice in this persecution because it is no different then the persecution that Christ and the prophets went through, and when we are enduring it for Christ, we are going to be rewarded in heaven, because we denied everything, including ourselves, for Christ and His Word!

If someone accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior, he will as a rule, continue to obey God despite difficulty and risk.  It is a joy and a privilege to be able to take a stand for the Lord who laid down His life for us.
