Romans 9:32 (KJV)
 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Jesus came to restore men to the original intent and to bridge the gap between them and God.  Jesus came in to fulfill the law.  The  Pharisees would not hear of it and got stuck in works of the law.  They wanted men to follow them and above all else to follow the law. Jesus came in grace to minister truth to everyone.  The Pharisees refused to accept Jesus and denounced Him.  Jesus told people to walk in faith, but the law was a stumbling stone to them.  The law is still a stumbling stone today for many who demand that people live by the law and works.  To walk by faith today does not satisfy the flesh and takes more effort than walking by the law.  The law will cause people to miss the essence of Jesus’ message and they will not walk in the freedom Jesus came to give us to live in.

Romans 9:33 (KJV)
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Jesus came and took everything to the cross, so that we could live free from sin.  Yet for many He was the rock of offense because the flesh was not satisfied. Whosoever will believe in Jesus shall not be ashamed.  For many their lifestyle is to live in shame for everything they have ever done wrong.  This is because Jesus was a rock of offense to them because they did not receive His deliverance on the cross. We are to walk in victory here on earth and we do not have to wait until we get to heaven to live life to the full. For the legalist this freedom is something that they refuse to accept.  The real challenge is that the legalists are losing control over people.  Jesus came so we could live free of their bondage and in grace.

Romans 10:3  (KJV)
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Living in the world will take people on a journey in the flesh.  People try to live according to their own righteousness and not God’s righteousness.  The main reason is that people have not been willing to submit themselves unto God.  This will cause them to be ignorant of God’s righteousness and to never establish their lives in Jesus.  For a person to live a life following self, will send them to hell and an eternity of separation from God. There is no excuse to be ignorant of God and His righteousness.  We are living in a time where there is more word available to people than ever before. Many are too caught up in the world and don’t have time for God.  If we refuse to submit ourselves to God then we are responsible for all the  problems that we have in life.

Romans 10:4  (KJV)
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Jesus came to fulfill the law and He is the end of the law.  In a world that denies Jesus and only is willing to accept the law that is where the battle rages.  Jesus came and gave to everyone who believed the gift of righteousness in Him.  Self- righteousness [reliance on ones -self] denies Jesus and all that He died for.  Putting our lives and ideas above God will only bring hardship and distress.  Jesus came for all people to be free in Him, but He will not force Himself on anyone.  The only way to be free is to submit to Jesus and surrender all of our own efforts to Him.  Only then will be ever be truly free in Jesus.

Romans 10:6 (KJV)
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

The wisdom that Jesus died for us to have and the righteousness which is of faith are available to all.  If we choose to live uprightly in the Lord we will not try to say in our hearts that we want to bring Jesus down from above.  There is not the respect today for God that there should be in the lives of everyone.  Far too many time people tend to put God on the same level as man. When we are walking with Jesus in our hearts we will have a respectful attitude towards God. As  individuals are walking with Love of God in their hearts they will walk humbly before God.

Romans 10:9 (KJV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
To confess means to express in words what is present in the heart.  To say that Jesus is Lord of your life is important, but you must also believe that God raised him from the dead to receive salvation.  What good would a dead savior be to any one?  We would be like all other heathens and be worshipping dead idols. It has become a problem in society where people will say things just to get attention and favor of others. This is an eternal matter that must be spoken in words of faith in God. The power if the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead and that power is in all true believers.

Romans 10:11 (KJV)
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Whosoever means that anyone that chooses to believe in faith that Jesus was raised from the dead will be saved.  In that salvation comes everything that Jesus accomplished on the cross.  On the cross Jesus died for all of our sin, sickness, and shame.  The difficult part comes for people to believe and receive that deliverance and healing for themselves. As we start our new life in Jesus there are many areas where we have to change our thinking.  We have to stop agreeing with the world and thinking a defeated negative way.  In Jesus we have the victory over all of the earthly, fleshly ways that seek to destroy our lives.  With the worlds negativity in our hearts we will be held back and unable to move ahead into a victorious Christian life.

Romans 10:14 (KJV)
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

It is important that everyone in the world hears about Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Unless people do hear about Jesus, about all that He did for us they cannot know about salvation.  That He died for on the cross for all our sins and was raised from the dead they will not have the opportunity to receive salvation. Preachers have to be sent out to share Jesus everywhere they go in life.  We have to get out of the 4 walls of the church building.  All believers need to stop being ashamed and refuse to be politically correct.  The only way people will hear about Jesus is if we take the gospel to the streets.  We need to go where the lost are and stop just waiting for them to come to us.

Romans 10:15 (KJV)
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

This is the day and hour when believers need to gather together and send preachers out into the world.  There are many ways with modern technology to send the word to the world.  We don’t have to always physically go to the far reaches of the world; but we need to get out of the church building.  Through TV and the internet the word can be sent in an instant anywhere. If we open our hearts and check books we can support a world -wide out reach.  With radio, TV, the internet sending the word out this brings us even closer to the time for Jesus’ return. Billions are desperate for some hope in life.  We are called to share that hope in any way that we can with everyone we come across in life.  You never know the opportunities that the Holy Spirit will bring to into our lives unless we try.

March 10, 2012Daily Word  Romans 10:17  (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.The presentation of the word into our lives can come in a variety of ways.  When the truth is sent out unto the masses of people, the opportunities for people to hear about Jesus increase.   Our only limitation is ourselves and our fear of what people might say to us. With the increase of the word being spoken in society God is raising the stakes in the war of words. This has caused the devil and his people to try to make it illegal to talk or speak the word in public.  The devil knows that if an individual has the chance to hear the word, then they just might accept Jesus as Lord.  Only then can people develop a faith in God and the world does not want that to happen.  The more word that all people hear the stronger spiritually they will become.  Then as they become stronger, they will speak the word to more people.

Romans 11:2-3 (KJV)
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

God is a God of Love, it is not just that He has Love.  His love is so intense for His children that He does not want any to be lost.  When we become a Christian, and  are  the first in our family we have a great opportunity.  Jesus called us so that the rest of the family could hear about Him from us.  We have to stand strong in Jesus because there are many others around us to encourage us and support us in our daily walk.  The devil will try to get people to believe that they are totally alone and will be defeated. God has told the prophets of old and HE is telling us that there are others who believed and we were not alone.
